Nella cornice delle sale del Palazzo Merulana, già sede dell’Ufficio d’Igiene di Roma recentemente restaurato ed ora area museale nel quartiere Esquilino, è possibile visitare in questi giorni, non solo la Collezione Cerasi che comprende opere moderne e contemporanee di elevato valore artistico, ma anche una mostra antologica delle opere di Antonio Donghi ed una personale di un giovane pittore veneziano Vittorio Marella dal titolo “Nuotatori d’inverno”.
La Collezione Cerasi comprende opere moderne e contemporanee della Scuola Romana, esponendo sculture e quadri di Raphaël e le opere di Ceroli, Pugliese, Penone, Donghi, De Chirico, Capogrossi, Cambellotti, Balla, Casorati, Mitoray e Fabre, solo per citarne alcuni.
Al terzo piano del palazzo è attualmente presente una antologica di Antonio Donghi (Roma, 16 marzo 1897 – Roma, 16 luglio 1963) è stato un pittore italiano, tra i principali esponenti del Realismo magico, stile pittorico e letterario che dipinge una visione realistica del mondo aggiungendo anche elementi magici, spesso confondendo i confini tra fantasia e realtà.
Al quarto piano si può ammirare la personale di un promettente pittore venziano di ventisette anni, Vittorio Marella, dal titolo “Nuotatori d’inverno”. La mostra ha come tema il mare, l’acqua natura in cui compare l’elemento umano, mai inquadrato di fronte ma se sempre da dietro, togliendo la riconoscibilità e concentrandosi sulla osservazione dell’infinito e dell’elemento primigenio dell’acqua.
